Star television series HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER has announced her engagement to David Burtka, as well as the wedding plans through personal Twitter account. However, it turns out this engagement has happened quite a while, about 5 years ago.

"David and I have proposed to each other, but it's been five years ago. We've been wearing an engagement ring for years, waiting for the appropriate date (for marriage)," writes Harris.

This shocking announcement broke apart just a few hours after gay marriage is allowed to do in New York. In October 2010, Harris and Burtka become parents of twins named Harper and Gideon, who was born through the womb of another woman.
